About The United Way of Northeast Kentucky

Beginning in 1936, UWNEK has been serving northeastern Kentucky for 72 years. Providing hope and safety for thousands of Kentuckians, we are a volunteer-based nonprofit organization making a difference in the lives of those in our community every day.

Through collaboration, programming and a tradition of leadership, we focus on producing results that strengthen families, nurture children and youth, promote health and wellness, and empower neighborhoods and communities.

It doesn't matter how many programs or initiatives we have in place. If we involve many or just a few people in the process. What matters are the health and well-being and strength of those around us. For United Way it's the results that matter, not the numbers.

Although we are based in Ashland, we serve a large portion of northeastern Kentucky: Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Lawrence, and Greenup Counties.
